This refreshing summer garden punch is the best thirst-quenching beverage you’ll need this summer. The natural sweetness of watermelon and pineapple, the refreshing cooling effects of mint and lemon balm, and the kick of lemon juice and ginger. With this scorching summer heat in full swing, and icy glass of this punch is our picnic favorite!

IGREDIENTS FOR A REFRESHING SUMMER GARDEN PUNCH

We all get excited for summer gardens or produce for a reason, the bounty sure is plentiful. We may not be able to grow all what we want for our punch but we are using some backyard favorites

FRUITS

Watermelon: Watermelon season is in full swing from July through September in Tennessee. I do have some growing the garden but we did buy some for this punch. Watermelon is incredibly hydrating, thanks to its high water content, making it an excellent choice to beat the heat. Its natural sweetness totally eliminates the need for any refined sugars with this punch.

Pineapple: Also adds a natural sweetness with a tropical vibe. It has some anti-inflammatory properties, loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants that contribute to overall health and well-being.

HERBS

Mint: We all love the cooling effect of fresh mint! Mint can help with digestion and may also help alleviate stomach discomfort. Its probably one of the easiest herbs to grow too if you’re thinking of a tea garden. Plant this proliferating herb in a container and watch it thrive.

Lemon Balm: Lemon balm is a member of the mint family and adds a subtle lemony flavor to the punch. If you love mint tea, you’ll love lemon balm tea even better! So if you’re not familiar with this amazing herb yet, give it a try. It is known for its calming effects and may help reduce stress and anxiety. Lemon balm also contains antioxidants and is believed to have antiviral properties.

SPICES & MORE

Ginger: Brings in some kick and spice. Ginger is well known for its digestive benefits and may help reduce nausea and inflammation. Here’s a refreshing wellness drink we make with ginger. It complements the sweetness of the pineapple and watermelon.

Lemon Juice: The tangy zest of lemon juice adds a burst of acidity to our garden punch. Lemons are a great source of vitamin C and antioxidants offering an immune boost.
