EASY TURMERIC RICE
Fluffy, vibrant and fragrant turmeric basmati rice cooked with chicken broth.
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 3 Tbsp avocado oil
- 1 cup diced sweet onions
- 4 garlic cloves crushed
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 and 1/2 tsp ground turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 and 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Heat oil in sauce pot and sauté onions until translucent. Then stir in rice and toss for about 3 minutes.
Add garlic and continue to stir for another 30 seconds to a minute until fragrant.
Carefully add in chicken broth (Expect vigorous boiling and steam).
Then add in turmeric, black pepper and salt to taste. Stir, cover with foil to trap most of the steam before adding a tight lid.
Reduce heat to medium low and slowly simmer for 20 minutes or until all the broth has been absorbed. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Add in chopped cilantro, fluff and serve.
