Oatmeal protein smoothie, the perfect breakfast on the go. We love smoothies because they are an easy way to not skip breakfast. That being said, they make amazing intentional breakfasts especially if you incorporate the right ingredients to make it a meal replacement smoothie. This oatmeal protein smoothie is not only delicious but hearty and loaded with protein, vitamins, antioxidants and so much more.
INGREDIENTS FOR PROTEIN OATMEAL SMOOTHIE
Rolled Oats: We prefer rolled oats to quick oats because of the ultimate texture of the end smoothie. You can still use quick oats if that is all you have. Rolled oats are a little less processed and brings in slightly more fiber.
Frozen Mangoes: Mangoes or any fruit in general brings in some sweetness and fiber to your smoothie. Mangoes are one of our favorite fruits but feel free t o bring in your fruit of choice.
KOS berrymuch powder: An optional addition but this adds a touch of sweetness and lots of plant oxidants. The berrymuch powder is a little steep in cost but a little bit goes a long way for we make it last a while.
Plant based protein: Any plant based protein will work. Do your research and pick what works for you. This is what really makes this smoothie a meal replacement that keeps you full and satisfied.
Unsweetened almond milk: Every smoothie needs a base be it just water, juice or some milk. We are keeping this vegan and this is typically our milk of choice. Alternative could be Coconut milk, Cashew milk or Soy milk which has a little more protein.
Lemon Juice: ( Optional )We love adding a dash of citrus to smoothies. Just a little rise and shine dose of vitamin C.
MAKING THE SMOOTHIE
With these ingredients, all you need is a good blender to make yourself a delightful smoothie. Adjust ingredients for single serve or for the family. As always, we start with our liquid base and then the rest of your ingredients come in. Blend until smooth and serve immediately.
