This easy frothy matcha latte is amazing and comes together in under 5 minutes and with no fancy kitchen gadget. It can effortlessly be incorporated into your morning routine.

MATCHA

Matcha is a green tea powder made from griding young green tea leaves. It has significant antioxidant properties and also loaded with vitamins and amino acids. There is something about a cup of Matcha, be it warm or on ice. And that frothy goodness that makes you feel like you’re visiting your favorite tea shop but in sweatpants. No latte art here but the fact that you still see some frothiness down to your last sip definitely speaks volume about this little trick.

MILK OPTIONS

Here we are using almond milk. Other non-dairy milks to use include oat, cashew, soy or whatever you like. Dairy gets frothier so you have the option of using some cow’s milk too.

When shaking, you want to open the shaker in 10-15 second intervals to release the pressure build up. Do these a few times, pour and enjoy. Also, it is best if the milk is not piping hot.

SWEETNERS TO USE

Use your choice of sweetener but if you’re using honey for an iced matcha make sure you add it into the shaker before pouring over ice. If not, the honey forms a not so pleasant clump. You can also sweeten with maple syrup or cane sugar. Feel free to skip sweetening all together.

FROTHY MATCHA LATTE AT HOME

This is probably going to be the simplest matcha latte you’ll ever make. It works whether you are enjoying it warm or iced. The trick to the frothiness is simply a protein shaker with a wire ball. Milk should be warm and not boiling hot! You can microwave for 45 seconds to a minute.
